Frequently Asked Questions
Why can't I watch the tape that I have purchased in Europe?
Because different countries are using different video and broadcast standards. Nobody can tell for sure why, but the most common reasons are thought to be the competition, different starting conditions both in culture and technology and the cold war. The tapes may be the same, but recorded signals are different. It's like a book. You have to know the language in order to read it. Having black print on white paper and hard cover is not enough. Your VCR can't read it. You need a translation. See what we can do for you.
My friend is going to send me VideoCD from overseas. Will I be able to watch it in Canada?
Yes and no. Some DVD players may be able play VideoCD (or VCD) as well as Super Video CD (or SVCD) regardless of the country of origin. Some won't. Give it a try. If it does not work in your player, we can convert it into a watchable DVD.
I want to send my home video to my family overseas. What should I do?
Check the common video standard in that country. If it is not NTSC (as it is in Canada and U. S. A.), then you need to convert your video into appropriate standard, PAL or SECAM. See what we can do for you.
